Update on A14 Essential Maintenance work – 15 October 2019

Essential maintenance work continues on the A14 between the M1 junction 19 and A14 junction 2.  Although the recent poor weather means that some shifts have been lost, but the work is still scheduled for completion in December 2019.

Two Week Look Ahead

Work resumed on Monday 14 October with 12 nights of full closures of the A14 eastbound carriageway.  The carriageway is closed while work due to the nature of the work and for the safety of the workforce and road users.  All closures will be overnight (8pm to 6am) from Monday 14 October to Friday 25 October.

It’s anticipated that the eastbound closure will coincide with the southbound closure of the M6 J2-4 Smart Motorways Scheme from Monday 21 to Friday 25 October.  Drivers travelling from the north-west using these routes will be subject to two diversions. More information will be available when this is confirmed.

Diversion Route

The diversion route, will take vehicles to the M1 at junction 15 and along the A45 / A43, depending on destination.
