Notification of upcoming works on the M6 junction 1- M1 junction 19. Overnight 26 and 27 July 2021

Essential maintenance work between the M6 Southbound Junction 1 to M1 Junction 19/A14 Catthorpe

This scheme is for repairing identified defects and will take place on the overhead gantries.  Once completed, all road users will benefit from improved road safety.

The work with take place from Monday 26 July 2021 to 27 July 2021 between 8:00pm and 5:00am.

To maintain a safe environment for the workforce and customers, a full carriageway closure is necessary to complete all tasks. The following closures will be in place during this time.

• Full closure of the M6 SB from junction 1 to M1 junction 19
• Closure of M6 J1 SB entry slip
• Closure of the link road from M6 SB to A14 EB

Diversion

During these closures, fully signed diversion routes which have been agreed with the Local Authority and this is via the A426 to the M1 at Lutterworth.

The Parish Council has made strong representations about the importance of clear signing to be put in place.

The diversion has been designed to minimise the impact on local residents.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.

All sites have strict safeguarding measures, in line with Public Health England guidance, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and no sites are open to the public.  All projects are closely monitored, and the situation is kept under constant review.
